Fair Trade Primary Resource Box (comments)

Fair Trade Exhibition

Fair Trade not Slave Trade

the fight against economic slavery

Cotton, sugar and bananas gave prosperity to the British on the slave labour of others. How much has changed? This exhibition shows the economic slavery behind these products even today.

The exhibition materials are available to organisations (for a small donation) – please contact Hazel at Hull DEC for further information.

Fair Trade Primary Loan Box (comments)

The new Fair Trade (Primary) loan box was recently used by two classes at Marfleet Primary School, Hull

Absolutely super resources – there is enough here for at least half a term of Geography/PHSE topic.  The resources are upper KS2 but you could easily adapt to KS1.  Many thanks – the children loved the artefacts.

Maureen Hulme, teacher class 4

Excellent resources – I shall definitely be borrowing again.  Lots of good ideas in the resource packs and also very adaptable.  The information was also appropriate for the children in my Yr 5/6 class to read themselves.  It made me realise how little the children really understood about the source/processes of raw materials into products – many didn’t know that cotton was a crop (even though it’s ‘covered’ in Science they were still amazed that it grew!).  Will certainly be using the resources again – next term  - and look forward to it!
