Who We Are

The Development Education Centre (Hull) is an educational charity serving the Humber sub-region.  We provide information and resources to schools, nurseries, colleges, universities, youth, church and community groups on global issues.

What We Do

We loan a unique collection of authentic artefacts and resources from around the world.  These include everyday domestic items, textiles, clothing, crafts and toys.  Also available are interactive cultural diversity events by experienced facilitators from various countries.

How you can help us

The DEC is able to provide services to organisations and individuals throughout the region.  However, becoming a member of the DEC has several benefits including discounts on many of our products and services.  It will also ensure our work is able to continue and will be of help in our applications for funding.  If you would like to find out more about membership, click here to download a printable form, or contact the DEC at the above address.

Our contacts with people from around the globe make the DEC an ideal source of information and advice on innovative ways of introducing a subject whilst satisfying the national curriculum.
